I’m April. And I couldn’t be more excited about writing this blog post! Except, I’m writing about myself.. which is far from something I would typically do. But, I’ll give it my best shot.

First and foremost, I’m a mother, by nature. Not to be confused with Mother Nature! My little girl, Annabel, is my inspiration for everything. And, I can’t forget my 3 dog children. Nothing can compare to the loyalty of a dog. The three words I live by are Faith, Hope, & Love.

I’m originally from Florida and after a couple of years, moved to Alabama. If you’re a Vols fan, don’t worry-I’ve lived in Tennessee most of my life, starting in Nashville and finally in Knoxville, where I call home. I’m really close to my immediate family. Both literally and figuratively. My parents & sisters’ families (I have 2) live close by and we spend a lot of time together. Not just texting or calling, but good ol’ face to face quality time. Annabel has the best time playing with her cousins. I’m blessed that we live close enough to do that. Most of my extended family is still in Florida, but we still try to stay connected.

What do I like to do?.. The list is quite eclectic. I volunteer for multiple organizations. I’m a big advocate for individuals with special needs. I’m on the Advisory Council for Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs and involved with the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee. I went to school for Design, so anything that sparks my creativity is appealing. Painting, writing & reading poetry, song-writing, photography, and baking (or trying to bake). I like to play piano & guitar. Music is a big passion of mine. Whether it’s going to a local artists’ show, big concert, or just listening to some tunes while laying in my hammock. As an Educator for Young Living, I’m obsessed with Essential Oils. I like trying new restaurants and always up for a home cooked meal. I love cars (fast ones preferably) & bird watching.

But, enough about me already. The reason I’m writing this post is to introduce myself as the new Director of Development at McCosh Films. When I 1st met Jason Hensley, his vision for his company immediately grabbed my attention. He genuinely loves what he does. On the McCosh Films website in big, bold, white letters, you will find the phrase “Character Driven Stories With Strong Emotional Impact”. This is not just some tag line. This is who Jason is. He wants every story that is told to have meaningful content reminding us that “behind any project there are real people” and real emotion. We have a lot of the same values and both like to serve. And, the rest is history. I’m excited to get to know all of you and build “meaningful relationships” and to be a part of a team that genuinely cares about their clients. Not to mention, the work the team produces is stunning! Absolutely stunning.
